Molokai Baha’i Couple Featured in Popular Video Series

A Baha’i couple from Molokai, Robin and Dano Gorsich, are featured in a new video by popular videographer Peter Santenello. The video has already been watched more than 700 thousand times. In addition to discussing their self-sufficient, off-grid lifestyle and farming practices, the video features a discussion of the Baha’i Faith.

The Gorsichs have lived in the Waialua Valley on the east side of Molokai for almost 50 years and have operated Waialua Permafarm for more than 35 years. They currently focus mainly on tree crops. Their produce is sold through Sust’āinable Molokai’s mobile market. 

Their one-acre farm uses the principles of permaculture, which has been describes as “an approach to land management and settlement design that adopts arrangements observed in flourishing natural ecosystems. It includes a set of design principles derived using whole systems thinking.”

Peter Santenello has close to 3 million followers for his YouTube channel, which focuses on the lives of local people from around the world. He travels the world to “meet the locals and dive into foreign situations to understand what the world is like from different perspectives.” His videos have been viewed 338 million times. He has recently posted several videos about Molokai.
