The following letter was sent to the Bahá’í’s of Australia by the Governor-General the Hon Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd).

It reads:

The bicentenary of the birth of Baha’u’llah is a cause for great joy and celebration for the Bahá’í community here in Australia and around the world.

The vision of a united peaceful world is one that resonates with people of all faiths and all backgrounds.  The Bahá’í community is a vital part of the rich and diverse religious tapestry that makes Australia such a diverse and tolerant society.

I wish you all the very best for this anniversary service and the celebrations to follow.

Peter Cosgrove
